Kamran Khan

Kamran Khan is a master handloom artisan from Islampur village, Swat, with more than 18 years of weaving experience. He comes from a family that has been engaged in shawl weaving for over half a century and learned the craft directly from his father.

From a young age, Kamran was involved in handloom operations and gradually gained expertise in all stages of production. He is particularly skilled in handloom installation, yarn preparation, weaving woolen shawls, and producing traditional woolen blankets known locally as Sharri. His extensive experience allows him to maintain high quality standards while producing a diverse range of products.

Kamran spends approximately 10–12 hours each day operating handlooms. Depending on the design specifications, he can weave 2–3 men’s woolen shawls per day. Plain ladies’ shawls require less weaving time, enabling him to produce 4–5 pieces daily.
